CAD/CAM from design to production Facilities: CAD/CAM

Many of our clients, including the leaders in semiconductor fabrication, mass spectrometry and automotive manufacture, find that our use of solid modelling has a number of benefits:

  • It helps keep our lead times to a minimum by removing paper-conversion overheads
  • It enables us to generate NC toolpaths direct from the client design with no risk of translation error
  • We are able to verify the NC program by overlaying the original model and a simulated machined part using our advanced virtual simulation system before any cutting is done
We can receive drawings as hardcopy or electronically. Our production programmers use EdgeCam for CNC control, and can read drawings in the following native formats:

  • AutoCad DWG/DXF to 2002 (.dwg, .dxf)
  • Solid Works (.prt, .sldprt)
  • EdgeCAM Part files (.ppf)
  • Part Modeller files (.a3mod)
  • Solid Edge files (.par)
  • Iges files (.igs, .iges)
  • Parsolid files (.x_b, .x_t, .xmb, .xmt)
  • STL files (.stl)

SolidWorks Manufacturing Network

We can produce CNC programs from wireframe or solid models for

  • Milling up to 5 axis
  • Turning up to 2+C axis
  • Wire EDM up to 4 axis
